Hello PAAC Members!
Happy almost St. Patrick's Day!
Our next General Membership Meeting is next Monday, March 12th. There will be a special educational program given by Hartland's Swallow School art teachers, Ms. Jade Bolthouse (4th-8th grade) and Ms. Molly Stewart (K-4th grade). They will discuss art curriculum in our schools today, adolescent art, and a variety of related subjects.
We also have some very exciting news we will be sharing with our membership, so make sure to attend!
Remember, we have a number of events coming up this year, please make sure to check our website for updates.

Also on Saturday, June 2, 2012 PAAC will be hosting
"PAAC'd with Talent" at the The Roots Coffeebar & Cafe, 124 E. Wisconsin Ave. in Oconomowoc. This event will feature and showcase the talents of musicians, poets and other artists. More details to follow...
I hope to see you at 5:30 Monday night, March 12th, at the Pewaukee Public Library. This month we invite all artists to bring in their work to share with the group!

About Membership
It's that time of year! Please renew your membership in the PAAC. Membership runs Jan 1 - Dec 31. Annual dues are just $10 for an individual membership, or $30 for corporate, business, art studio or organization. Go to the PAAC Website to download a Membership Application. Benefits of joining the PAAC include networking with fellow artists, participation in community events sponsored by PAAC, opportunities to display your work in public venues, receive communication thru Constant Contact, be informed of the many events that support the arts in our community. PAAC
Membership

Our

guest
is
David
Stevens,
industrial
designer
and
engineer.
He's
the
eldest
son
of
the
famous
creative
industrial
designer,
Brooks
Stevens,
who
passed
away
in
1995,
but
not
before
he
left
the
world
a
legacy
of
combining
art
form
with
innovation
in
engineering.
Brooks
was
the
founder
of
the
Society
of
Industrial
Designers.
David's
program
will
touch
on
"The
Evolution
of
Industrial
Design."
David
grew
up
in
the
world
of
design
and
in
particular
developed
a
love
for
cars.
He
became
the
President
of
the
Excalibur
Automobile
Corporation.
Over
3,000
Excaliburs
exist
today
and
it
is
one
of
the
great
collectable
cars
of
the
21st
Century.
What
an
honor
to
have
David
Stevens
join
us
on
Monday!

Showcase of Art
April 16-17, 2011
It's here!!!! Plan to attend! Over 450 pieces of artwork to view!!! New this year is $1,000 in Prize Money to give away thanks in part to a donation from the Waukesha State Bank. The Showcase of Art is Sat-Sun, April 16-17, from 11am-4pm at Steinhafels Furniture Superstore at I-94 and Hwy F. It's not too late to volunteer! Attend our final Showcase committee meeting on Monday, April 11, at 4:00 p.m. at the Pewaukee Public Library (then stay for our PAAC Meeting!).

Banner Up! 2
Artists Chosen to Paint Banners
The Banner Up! 2 project is underway! Over 25 artists have started painting their "Lake Country" theme banners. This summer watch for the new banners to be displayed on the street lamps downtown Pewaukee. The banners are available to be sponsored for $300 each. Have your business name or organization proudly displayed under a painting! One Vision Project
The One Vision Project continues! Mark your calendar for our fall event on October 22 featuring the newest pairs of artists and poets. We will host the poetry reading and artwork at the Oconomowoc Arts Center in the BIG AUDITORIUM! Invite your family and friends! This year's program will include dance & music in response to select artwork/poetry. Dancers from To The Pointe in Hartland will be participating in the October 22 event.
Special thanks to PAAC members Cristina Norcross and Liz Rhodebeck for their great organizing skills and promotion of our artists and poets in the Lake Country area.

The Pewaukee Area Arts Council is a small non-profit organization which relies on contributions to support the arts in our community. PAAC will promote your business in appreciation of your donation. About PAAC
The Pewaukee Area Arts Council meets at 5:30 p.m. the second Monday of each month at the Pewaukee Public Library, with a guest speaker at each meeting. The organization promotes various arts events throughout the year for the Lake Country community. Membership is $10 per year.
