JOYFUL FREE ART LIBRARY

The Pewaukee Area Arts Council and Soul Fire Art Studio & Gallery collaborated to offer the community the Joyful Free Art Library.

We created our Joyful Free Art Library to share the joy of creating. You may take home a free piece of art or grab some art supplies to create a piece of art yourself. And, you may leave a piece of art for others to enjoy. 

You’ll find our free art library outside of Soul Fire Art Studio & Gallery located at 636 Main Street in Delafield.

Inspiration of many creative minds

Designed by PAAC member and Oconomowoc artist Terri Field, PAAC hosted an unveiling event Thursday, July 28, 2022, to commemorate the installation of the art library and to thank those who were instrumental in its creation. 

“The design of the free art library was meant to be literally joyful!” says artist Terri Field. “The library’s design is a collection of playful shapes in a kaleidoscope of colors. I hope it inspires creativity, and attracts people to the library so they can create their own works of art.” 

The library is named in the memory of long-time PAAC member Joy Grace Allen, who inspired many to use color freely and create! 

“We created the free art library as a gift to the community to inspire creativity,” explains Julia Jaegersberg, president of PAAC. “Inside, you’ll find art supplies, art books and little works of art donated by PAAC members and friends. PAAC is very grateful to Ruth Harken – founding member of PAAC – for donating funds to construct the library and to Pewaukee’s Rick Kroening for constructing the library. And thankful to Teresa Spencer, owner of Soul Fire Art Studio for serving as its host. In addition, many talented artists contributed time and resources to make this vision a reality.”
