Sale of Ceramic Artist Greg Miller’s Artwork to Fund Scholarship in His Name
Greg Miller, a renowned ceramic artist, possessed a profound passion for both sculptural and functional pottery. His 56-year career encompassed a wide range of techniques, from kiln building and firing to glaze calculation and building methods.
He passed away on December 22, 2024, at the age of 74. Greg's legacy will endure through the art he crafted. Greg’s art will be for sale on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at his friend and fellow artist Joel Pfeiffer’s Heartroots Studio. Proceeds from the sale Greg’s pottery will fund a scholarship in Greg’s name through the Pewaukee Area Arts Council.
Miller’s technical expertise allowed him to create a unique and refined style in his medium.
He found joy in the challenge of working with clay, often starting with small gestural pieces before progressing to larger works.
Beyond his artistic achievements, Miller was a dedicated mentor and knowledge sharer, helping many aspiring potters and artists gain valuable insights into the craft. His contributions extended beyond the studio, as he served on the board of NCECA, the National Council on Education to the Ceramic Arts, and as an art professor at Mount Mary University.
Miller’s work was exhibited in various collections across the country, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of ceramics.
